FAQ

Questions, answered

Is HanyuBase really free?

Yes. Every worksheet and every PDF is free — print as many as you like, for home or classroom.

Which characters are supported?

Over 9,000 characters — everything in the standard stroke-order database, including all HSK 1–3 vocabulary. Rare characters without stroke data are flagged before you download.

Can I use the worksheets in my classroom?

Absolutely. Teachers and parents are welcome to print and share worksheets freely for teaching.

What is the mi zi grid (米字格)?

The classic Chinese practice grid: a square with dashed diagonals and cross lines that help you place each stroke correctly. You can also choose the simpler tian zi (田字格) or a plain box.

Does it work for traditional characters?

Stroke order data covers most common traditional characters too — try 福 or 龍. Support is best for frequently used forms.
